What do you want to do?
That's the big question, right? Like if you had the time/space/money/energy/whatnot, what do you want to do? What dream would you chase? What are you willing to do to get there?
I know, this all sounds like the opening to a series of vague-ass inspirational posters or some kind of MLM nonsense, but it's neither, I assure you. Just something I've been reflecting on this past week.
I do a lot of things besides writing or building my miniatures. I crochet, draw, paint, my graphic design and video production skills have progressed enough that they're using them for my job. I mean, I'm not lacking for artistic outlets at all. Truth be told, I probably have too damn many artistic outlets, but I see things in my head and I want to bring them into the real world. That's kinda how this works.
Finishing a book for me was a hill and a half. Publishing a book was the next hill, as was writing and finishing the next. Honestly, I view every book as another mountain in the range and I keep moving forward. But in the back of my mind, I wanted to do something else. Find something that would be the next link in the chain for me.
I got some amazing news, actually. I got accepted into a tv-writing class put on by the folks at Sundance. I'm so damn excited, I can barely think. This has, in my mind, always been the next dream, and it seems like I might actually have the chance to start the journey. I'm pretty psyched.
So, I start my hunt on Monday, but in the meantime, I'm still working on A Wedding Moon and Paper Dolls, both due out this year.
Don't forget that on Twitter (@Dispatchvampire) at 8PM EST is my watch party for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and as always, I'll have my thoughts posted in my Saturday Spoiler Sesh. Drop in and let's talk Bucky!
